Eclipses

To navigate to the eclipses tab you can click the ☉☾ tab in the side panel or use the alt+e keyboard shortcut. If you shift+click the image of an eclipse beneath the date inputs on the day of an eclipse it will open it up in the eclipses tab. If you shift+right click the eclipse image it will open it up in the Saros series.

When you navigate to the eclipses tab you will see a list of eclipses.

You can filter eclipse types by toggling the solar, lunar, total, hybrid, partial, annular and penumbral buttons. You can click the collapse all button to hide all opened eclipse images in the list. If you type a year into the number input and click go it will take you to a list of eclipses from around that year.

You can click or right click the date on an eclipse to open it as the first or second date in the dates tab. Next to the date you can see the zodiac sign that the eclipse occurs in and the Brown and Janus lunation numbers. If you click the eclipse type text you can toggle the eclipse image to show or hide. You can click the Saros series to go the Saros series and the button to add the eclipses to the date grid.

Saros Series

All eclipses belong to numbered Saros series. When an eclipse occurs, another eclipse will happen 223 lunar phases (18 years, 11 days) later in the same Saros cycle under similar conditions. A triple Saros, 669 lunar phases, is called an Exeligmos (turn of the wheel). The conditions and eclipse path of eclipses separated by a triple Saros will be nearly the same.

To view a list of Saros you can click the Saros button at the top of the eclipses tab. From here you can click either the solar or lunar buttons to view a list of either solar or lunar saros series. This will also show you the years that the Saros series begins and ends.

You can click on a Saros series to open it and view the eclipses the same as in the list view. To go back to the list of Saros series you an click the solar or lunar buttons at the top.
