In addition to the passing of Angels player Garret Anderson, we’ll be looking at two other prominent tragedies the team has suffered in recent years. In 2009, pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed by a drunk driver, and in 2019 pitcher Tyler Skaggs died of a drug overdose.
Tyler’s death was particularly noteworthy, because in the Angels’ first home game afterwards, they threw the first combined no-hitter in the state of California since the exact same day Skaggs was born. Check out my post on that from after it happened.

Garret Anderson was born exactly 2203 weeks after Anton LaVey, a span of 322 weeks aafter the founding of the Church of Satan, and turned 1,322 weeks old the day after LavVey’s death:
