This is the second time I’ve posted about the early demise of a former Cincinnati Bengals running back.
In 2019, Bengals star Cedric Benson was killed at age 36 in a motorcycle crash. Also see my follow-up post after the Bengals made it to Super Bowl LVI.
This post will examine how the death of Rudi Johnson is a clean numerical riddle connected to Benson’s death and Super Bowl LVI (56).
Rudi wasn’t the only Johnson on the Bengals during his tenure with the team. He shared the field with All-Pro wide receiver Chad Johnson, who is now more commonly known as Chad Ochocinco. The FOX News article above made it a point to mention that Chad paid homage to his fallen teammate on X.
Just two days ago, the Bengals lost their first game of the season against the Minnesota Vikings, who picked up their 560th win of all-time (incl. postseason):
