The Ultimate "Pi" Riddle - Pi, Life of Pi, and Yale's 322nd Birthday (Megapost)

In 2023, Yale turned 322 years old. This special alignment is a tribute to the Circle:

The Mathematics of the Circle are exhibited through the equation Pi × Diameter = Circumference.

223 and 322 are the first two numbers with Ordinal gematria of 314.
223 + 322 + 232 = 777. Excluding the word and, the first number with 314 gematria is 777.

Eclipses from the same Saros series are separated by 223 Lunar phases. In March of this year, there was a Total Lunar Eclipse on 3/14, or Pi Day.

This post will explain how Yale and its distinct birthday is synced to the dates of release of two famous movies connected to Pi and the Moon.

The first is the 1998 film Pi, directed by Darren Aronofsky, starring Sean Gullette and Mark Margolis. The second one is 2012’s Life of Pi, directed by Ang Lee and based off a book by Yann Martel, which was released on the same day as the 9/11 terror attacks in 2001. That movie stars Irrfan Khan and Suraj Sharma as the adult/teenager versions of Pi Patel.

Irrfan Khan passed away at the age of just 53 from cancer in 2020. In 2023, Mark Margolis died at the age of 83.

1701 was the year Yale was founded:
