The 2017 Death of Former NFL WR Terry Glenn
This occurred about a month before I started my Blog, and the video I had made was on my original YouTube Channel.
Terry Glenn was a wide receiver in the NFL for 12 seasons. He was particularly noteworthy to me, not just because he played one season for the Green Bay Packers, but because I had a bit of a connection to him.
In 2002, my mom I were both working at a coffee house owned by former Brewer Jim Gantner. That year, she helped cater a charity golf outing he attended, and it was there that she met Terry Glenn. For whatever reason, the two developed a strong bond, and from then on he would often go out of his way to visit her at work, even calling her “mom” when they talked.
I came to learn later that Terry had a really rough childhood, and my mom’s unusually-magnetic personality simply provided him comfort he had always lacked on some level. It just so happens that he and my mom have the same birthday.
My mom was a span of 21 years, 1 day old on his birthday

It’s something that has always hung in the back of my mind when watching athletes on TV. As much as I enjoy seeing a big hit during a game, my stomach turns whenever I see someone lay motionless after a shot to the head or neck. With all the money they make, and how isolated they seem from the rest of us…they’re still human beings, doing what they love, and have loved ones who are scared every time they suit up.
He finished his career with the Dallas Cowboys
