Trump Claims Hurricane Maria Efforts Were a Success

It’s interesting that the big story all day on 9/11 this year was Hurricane Florence, which is set to pummel the Carolina coast this weekend.

The headline CNN gave us has gematria of 2001, and this is not by mistake:

On 9/11 back in 2001, it is said that 2,977 civilians were killed from four different plane crashes and subsequent building collapses.

When Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico, the nation was 119 years old:

So isn’t it interesting that the death toll they’re giving for Hurricane Maria is only TWO off this number?

I always want to put a disclaimer out there when it looks like I might be defending Donald Trump…but you can see how these figures could be disputed. There’s no dependable way to differentiate a “storm-related” death to just a death when you’re talking about months and months after the storm. Perhaps many of those 3,000 people would have died from illness or heat exhaustion anyway.

But this is exactly what the media is intentionally doing – giving you two sides, each with barely a foot to stand on, and people simply go ahead and bicker for whichever side they choose. Check out the number Wikipedia is currently listing as the death toll for Hurricane Maria now:
