“The Catch” Riddle – Dwight Clark (NFL) and Willie Mays (MLB)
This is my second of two posts on this story.
- Baseball Icon Willie Mays Dies @ 93
- “The Catch” Riddle – Dwight Clark (NFL) and Willie Mays (MLB)
In 1954, Willie Mays made what is known as The Catch in Major League Baseball:
In 1982, Dwight Clark made what is known as The Catch in the National Football League:
Mays played for the Giants, who would move to San Francisco during his time with the team. Dwight Clark played his entire career for the San Francisco 49ers.
For the first seven seasons of Willie Mays’ career, The Giants were located in New York. In 1972, his 22nd season in MLB, he was traded back to New York to play for the Mets.
You may have noticed an immense amount of attention on the 9/11 attacks on this Blog over the past few months (if not much longer). The last season of Willie’s career in New York was 1973 – the same year The World Trade Center first opened.
Skull and Bones
Walter Camp, a graduate of Yale University and member of the Skull and Bones secret society, is considered the “Father of American Football.” During the 9/11 attacks, the president was another Bonesman – George W. Bush.
Bush was 8 years, 85 days old for The Catch, which was a span of exactly 2450 weeks before September 11th:
While in office, George W. Bush finished the job his father George H.W. Bush started by killing Saddam Hussein. The elder Bush was also a Bonesman.
In October of last year, Yale University turned 322 years old:
Above, I pointed out how Mays and Clark were born exactly 134 weeks apart and The Catch = 134.
September 11th is the 254th day of the year:
Baseball’s version of The Catch happened during Game 1 of the 1954 World Series, which was Mays’
Nine Eleven (911)
In 2018, Dwight Clark passed away from ALS at the age of 61. See my old-fashioned post on that after it happened.
911 is an upside-down 116
Dwight Clark died 10 months, 30 days after Dubbya’s birthday and 5 months, 27 days before Papa Bush passed away:
1109 is the 186th Prime number
On 9/11, Flights 11 and 175 struck the World Trade Center. 11+175 = 186. Willie Mays died on the 18th of June, or 18/6.
The number 186 is the first multiple of 93, and on 9/11, the South Tower was struck at exactly 9:03 a.m. One of the planes struck the 93rd floor while Flight 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. Bush then addressed the nation at 9:30 a.m.
Willie Mays died at age 93
Mays’ famous World Series play known as The Catch happened on the date leaving 93 days in the year:
Clark’s postseason play known as The Catch happened on a date with Standard numerology of 93:
The 322nd Prime number is 2137
The World Trade Center was famously bombed in the year ’93: on February 26th, or 2/26:
Notice the bombing time of 11:18. The date 11/18 is typically the 322nd day of the year:
However, since 2024 is a leap year, the date 11/17 holds that honor:
Mays died during his 1118th month, 322 days before his 94th birthday:
More Notes
The World Trade Center wasn’t the only major bombing connected to The Tower riddle…remember the OKC bombing on 4/19:
