Carlos Sainz Jr. got the victory in his first F1 race back after suffering from appendicitis while in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago. If you missed it, check out my post on the debut of his replacement Ollie Bearman.
Carlos Sainz Jr. was the winner of the 87th Australian Grand Prix, which is held annually in Melbourne.
Hans Wilsdorf and the Australian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton’s DNF
Hamilton retired during his 16th lap
On the first day of February, Lewis announced his move to Scuderia Ferrari for next season. The driver Hamilton will be replacing at Ferrari, Carlos Sainz, won the race.
Two other drivers failed to cross the finish line – Russell and Verstappen.
Verstappen retired from the grand prix for the first time in nearly two years. He was forced out after a fire broke out in his rear Brakes.
For the first time in over two years, Ferrari finished in both first and second place, meaning Charles Leclerc, who drives the #16 car, stood to his teammate’s right on the podium.
