The Career of Duke Basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski
One of the most successful college basketball programs in the United States in recent decades has been the Duke Blue Devils.
Historically, devils have always been depicted as being red in color. Perhaps the university thought “Blue Devils” was a little less ominous, and even a little cute.
The name Blue Devils is said to come from the name of a French infantry batallion that fought in World War I. However, don’t fool yourself – the real reason Duke likes the name Blue Devils, per usual, is the occulted language of gematria, where Blue Devils yields the infamous 666 in the Sumerian cipher.
