Racism Hidden in SNL Skit
Last night, Saturday Night Live aired a skit set in the Revolutionary era. In it, members of the New England and Philadelphia militias assembled inside and talked smack about who could kick more British ass than the others.
There were scattered references to New England’s captain, “Thomas Brady”
Click the link above and go to 1:33. They proclaim they’re not drinking beer, but coffee. And they slip in an advertisement for Dunkin’ Donuts, native to New England.
After that, the first black actor of the scene somewhat randomly pops in.
“It’s good, right? I feel like I should, like, it should go with a sweet bread, like very sweet…”
He then awkwardly disappears off camera to no crowd reaction whatsoever. It made virtually no sense.
What just happened there? Look at the time on the video. Right in the middle of his line, the clock turns to 1:42
“Nigger” = 42 (Full Reduction)
1:42 is 102 seconds.
Also pay attention to what Natalie Portman yells right before he steps in. “Dunkin’, Thanks!”
