Murdered Russian Journalist Appears on Live TV
This story is about a Russian journalist who feared for his life and escaped the country to Ukraine, where he faked his death in order to foil an assassination plot. Less than two days later, he appeared alive and well on television, explaining his story to the public.
I’m still scratching my head as to how this makes any sense. He’s claiming the Ukrainian security forces to helped him pull this hoax off saved his life. How can he say that? Now that the Russians know he’s alive, he might as well be right back where he started. I could buy that they “saved his life” if they actually kept the lid on the secret.
This news story could be outright mockery of the public, with the elites flexing their authoritarian muscles, showing us they can make up news, at will, in just about any country on the planet. If this was indeed the case, Arkady Babchenko has some good numbers for it.
