Earlier this week, I made this post decoding the death of Maude Flanders from a 2000 episode of The Simpsons, discussing how it was related to the eclipse crucifixion code.
What I forgot while making that post was that The Simpsons took part in an even more blatant eclipse ritual back in 1995, during a two-part episode called Who Shot Mr. Burns? that aired as both the finale of one season and the premiere of the next.
In this episode, Mr. Burns builds a device to block out the Sun:
The episodes end Season 6 and begin Season 7.
This episode aired on May 21st, the date written 21/5. Simpsons creator Matt Groening was born on February 15th, written 2/15. That makes him an Aquarius, whose detriment is the Sun.
Down below, I explain how this episode was a ritual related to the 1991 total solar eclipse.
The Moon’s equatorial diameter is 2160 miles. Adding 2160 in Roman Numerals to The Moon sums to 666.
2160 is 6×6×6
The Earth’s polar axis is on a 66.6° tilt from the plane to the Sun. The Moon has matching gematria with six hundred and sixty-six.
Character Gematria
Who Shot Mr. Burns? sums to 69 in Reduction, like eclipse and eclipse of the sun.
In the second part, the culprit is revealed to be Maggie Simpson.
The names Maggie and Simpson sum to 33, just like Mr. Burns. This is the Reduction value of eclipse.
The episodes served as a publicity stunt for The Simpsons, whose creators organized contests for viewers to guess who the shooter was. The primary clue they left was that Mr. Burns fell on a sun dial with his arms pointed at the W and S, which, from his vantage point, looked like the initials for Maggie Simpson, M.S.
However, those with gematria knowledge may have been able to use this as another clue.
Maggie’s initials also sum to 120 in Jewish gematria. Particularly interesting, because Maggie is 120 in Reverse.
Both episodes aired on a date with Primary numerology of 140, lining up with the English value of M.S.:
M.S. has Sumerian gematria of 192, matching the Jewish value of eclipse.
1991 Maximum Eclipse
There’s something else interesting about the number 192 in this case. Back on the 192nd day of the year in 1991, there was a maximum total eclipse. A “maximum total eclipse” is the middle eclipse, and thus, the one with the longest duration of totality, of a Saros series. It was the first total maximum eclipse since 1868, and there won’t be another one until 2132.
Each eclipse in a Saros cycle is separated by 223 lunar phases. This is the Hebrew value for The Moon. It’s also the Ordinal value of Matthew Abraham Groening, the show’s creator.
The maximum eclipse occurred on a date with Primary numerology of 128:
Part One was the 128th episode of the Simpsons. It was also 8,128 days before the first Great American Eclipse (2017).
Who Shot Mr. Burns? aired on the 141st day of the year:
That maximum eclipse was the first total solar eclipse over Hawaii in 141 years.
33 was a big number mentioned above. In Ordinal, thirty-three sums to 156, which is the Hebrew value for eclipse. Recall, eclipses always occur 1, 5, or 6 lunar phases after the last one.
In the New Testament, the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ occurs when Jesus is 33 in the year 33 A.D. It’s said that darkness fell over the sky, like an eclipse. The death of the Sun during the death of God’s son.
74 is the big Jesus number.
The man shot in this eclipse ritual has 74 gematria.

5/22 is the 142nd day of the year
“Eclipse sacrifice” = 142 (Ordinal)
Matt Groening
A couple of more interesting alignments to point out.
This episode aired 155 days after the fifth anniversary of The Simpsons’ first episode. It was also 10550 days before the second Great American Eclipse (2024).
Christianity is an Abrahamic religion, which is funny because Groening’s middle name is Abraham. The fact that his full name sums to 223 as shown above is great too because Abrahamic religions and Ancient mystery religions both sum to 322 in Reverse.
