Tom Barrett / Milwaukee

Wisconsin is home to Tom Barrett, who was the last person to be the U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg. He had previously been the mayor of Milwaukee, whose baseball team just started the playoffs as the number one overall seed.

Barrett’s term as the city’s longest-serving mayor began on April 19th – exactly one year before Pope Benedict was elected.
