Raiders’ Rod Martin, Star of Super Bowl XV, Dies @ 72
Another week goes by, another former Raiders player dies. It’s almost like clockwork. Yes, obviously, older NFL players on every single team pass away. It’s the way life works. But over the past several years, the headlines have been littered stories of both younger and older Raiders dying.
This is yet another story that falls perfectly in line with the narrative recently discussed on this Blog – Apollyon of Revelation 9:11, the World Trade Center, and J. Robert Oppenheimer’s Trinity test in 1945.
This is Part 1 of a three-part post:
- Raiders’ Rod Martin, Star of Super Bowl XV, Dies @ 72
- Another ‘Skull & Bones’ Masterpiece for Rod Martin
- Lionel Messi’s Amazing Syncs to Raiders’ Super Bowl Hero
This theme began with the April 16th death of Garrret Anderson, which happened the same day as the murder-suicide of former Virginia politician Justin Fairfax. Anderson was one of the greatest players for the Angels, and his death was a riddle for the Angel of the bottomless pit, or Apollyon, as described in Revelation 9:11.
Apollyon means destroyer. The “destroyer of worlds” was J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who brought us the first nuclear weapons. Oppenheimer’s numerology is a pyramidal riddle, as explored by Sean in his terrific video from 2024.
Four days after Anderson’s death, we had a mass shooting at the Mexican pyramids, which I covered in my most recent posts. The shooter shared the name Julio Cesar Ramirez with one of Garret Anderson’s teammates when he won the 2002 World Series.
The name Garret is nearly identical to the name Barret. Last month, I made this post on the death of a man named Barret Robbins, who also started in a Super Bowl for the Raiders. And now we find out that a well-known Raiders player dies on the same day as the Mexican pyramid shooting?
The fact that Rod’s last name is Martin is also quite intriguing. Last year, I made this post on the death of Doug Martin at the age of just 36. Doug played for the Buccaneers, which along with the Raiders is the other Skull & Bones team of the NFL:
Doug Martin would now be 37 years old. These two teams squared off in Super Bowl 37. The Skull & Bones riddle is the focus of Part 2.
But there’s one more sync worth noting. Sean’s video takes a deep dive into how footballer Lionel Messi, considered the greatest of all-time by many, is also synced to this riddle. In these posts, you will see how Rod Martin’s passing is a perfect numerical riddle to Lionel Messi, who signed with Miami the same week as the release of Oppenheimer. This is all covered in Part 3.
After his heroic defensive performance in Super Bowl XV, Rod Martin graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, which was the most renowned sports publication at the time:

The issue featuring Rod Martin was published on February 2nd, the 33rd day of the year:![]()
The Manhattan Project led to the first nuclear explosion, called the Trinity test. A Trinity is a group of 3.
Martin had a record 3 interceptions in the Super Bowl. His jersey number ended in 3.

Lionel Messi plays for Inter Miami CF, the young club’s first trophy.

The 33rd Square number is 1089

Inter Miami CF was founded by another world-class footballer, David Beckham, who still runs the team.

The number 33 is essentially shorthand for 666, which is revealed as the number of the Beast in the book of Revelation.

The Raiders were led to their first Super Bowl championship by John Madden, who was the face of the NFL until shortly before his death in 2021.

Nine-Eleven (9/11)

Lionel Messi was born exactly 742 weeks after the Twin Towers opened and a span of exactly 742 weeks old when they were destroyed:
Perhaps the Rule of Colel is at play once again.

Eddie Mathews
Eddie Mathews was the athlete featured on the cover of the first-ever issue of Sports Illustrated:

Eddie Mathews died on February 18th, or 2/18, of 2001 – the same year as the terror attacks of 11/9/01:

Eddie Mathews has Reduction gematria of 53, which is the number Martin wore on the cover of his issue:
53 is the 16th Prime number
When the Raiders won Super Bowl XV, their coach Tom Flores, who wore #16 during his career, was 16016 days old. The 16th card of the Tarot’s Major Arcana is The Tower:

Barret Robbins

April 20th was 353 days after David Beckham’s birthday and a span of 353 days before Rod Martin’s:

353 is the 71st Prime number
