Breaking Bad, the 2023 Albuquerque Eclipse, Heisenberg and the Death of Jane

With the news cycle a bit slow lately, I thought I’d take a bit of a dive into what this author believes is the greatest television show ever made – Breaking Bad, which ran from 2008 to 2013. Granted, I’ve barely bothered with TV shows since 2006, so I may not be the best judge. But the series’ ability to build tension through its gripping storylines, believable character dialogue, timely dark humor, and finely-crafted cinematography is far greater than any other I’ve come across.
While this is far from a comprehensive decode of the entire series, I wanted to point out some of the more important themes that determined the dates of the show’s premiere and finale. Additionally, we’ll look at two episodes early on in the series that helped shape the path of its main characters.
“Heisenberg”
Following a terminal cancer diagnosis, the protagonist (or anti-hero) Walter White embarks on a journey to manufacture methamphetamines. He assumes the pseudonym of Heisenberg in the fourth episode of the series, Cancer Man, which premiered on February 17th, or 2/17:

That name comes from German theoretical physicist Werner Karl Heisenberg.

251 is the 54th Prime number
Walt spends the series battling Lung cancer.

10/9 is the founding date of Yale University, home to the Skull and Crossbones society, whose main numbers are 223 and 322:

109 and 116 are also found in the gematria of Werner Karl Heisenberg and George Vincent Gilligan.

Vince Gilligan is the man credited with creating Breaking Bad:

His full name also matches Walter Hartwell White in Ordinal.

George Vincent Gilligan also has matching 215 gematria with Annular solar eclipse, while Vince Gilligan matches Annular eclipse.

2023 Albuquerque Eclipse
There are 223 Lunar phases between each Eclipse from the same Saros series.

In 2023, an Annular Eclipse passed directly over Albuquerque, New Mexico:
The date it occurred had Standard numerology of 47:![]()

Walt proclaimed to be Heisenberg in an episode that aired on a date with Primary numerology of 47:![]()

The series aired its finale on a date with Primary numerology of 71:![]()

The show’s other main character, Jesse Pinkman, has gematria of 71. He’s portrayed by actor Aaron Paul.

The 27th Prime number is 103

The 1965th Prime number is 17033

Skull & Bones
Breaking Bad = 223 and the Eclipse over Albuquerque happened in 2023. The Moon = 223 (Hebrew), the number of Lunations between Eclipses from the same Saros.

In 2023, Yale University, home to the Skull and Crossbones = 223 (or Order 322), turned 322 years old:
That date was just four days before the Eclipse over Albuquerque

Heisenberg died on February 1st, the date leaving 334 days in a leap year:![]()
These special numbers also have gematria of 106 in Reduction.

Albuquerque is on the 106th meridian

The Skull and Bones society was founded in 1832:

Not only was Walter White born on September 7th, or 9/7, but his Death also occurred on 9/7:

Aaron Paul / Jane Margolis

Gilligan ended Breaking Bad on a date with a Life Lesson number of 44:![]()

Jesse’s deceased girlfriend has a birthday listed as April 4th, or 4/4:
In that same episode, Walt’s daughter Holly is born. That episode is called Phoenix, which is appropriate given that the Phoenix rises from the ashes, a metaphor for death and rebirth. She was originally scheduled to be delivered via C-section on Friday the Thirteenth, which was had Primary numerology of 44 and was also the 44th day of the year:

Jane was 322 months old up until the day before she died.
