Former Mariners Catcher Jesús Montero Dies as Seattle Eliminated from ALCS
Just one day before the Seattle Mariners were eliminated from the Major League Baseball postseason, their former catcher Jesús Montero passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident two weeks earlier.
The Mariners lost to the Toronto Blue Jays, who advanced to the World Series. When Montero was released by the Mariners, it was the Blue Jays who picked him up. However, he would fail to return to the Big Leagues after he tested positive for a banned substance while in Toronto. That was in 2016, which is the 63rd Triangular number.
