National Guard Deployed to Los Angeles County
Trump’s orders this weekend marks the first time the federal government has deployed the National Guard since the 1992 Rodney King riots, which were also in the city of Los Angeles.
Those riots marked the largest civil disturbance in America in recent times, and came at a time of peak tension between white and black people. Once again, racial tension is at the forefront in this story, which is about illegal immigrants being arrested and eventually deported.
