9-Year-Old Ema Kawakami Completes a Triple 900°

Ema Kawakami, 9, stuns Tony Hawk with back-to-back-to-back 900s

9-year-old Ema Kawakami has been able to do a 900° on his skateboard since he was just seven years old. However, he had a particularly special moment a couple of weeks ago at the XGames, when he completed three consecutive 900°s during his run on the vert. He did it in front of skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, who was famously the first athlete to complete the trick – although Birdman was 31 years old at the time.

Kawakami impressed Tony Hawk at just 117 months (or 9 years, 9 months) of age:

Tony Hawk = 117 and 99

Tony Hawk’s first 900° was performed in the year ’99. And now a 9-year-old has become the master of the 900°.

Notice how many times the hype guy yells “900” during the clip. With everyone in the vicinity focused so intently with such electric energy, was this an attempt at magically manifesting the feat?

Kawakami was born 555 months, 3 weeks after Hawk and a span of 5553 days after Tony’s 900°:

Tony Hawk was born in ’68. The number 68 flipped upside-down is 89.

"Ema Kawakami" = 89 (Ordinal)

The young phenom was born on the 8th of September, or 8/9.

Ema Kawakami was a span of 9 years, 9 months, 8 days old for his landmark feat:

Three years later, Tony Hawk started a nonprofit called The Skatepark Project.

"The Skatepark Project" = 1368 (Latin)

Tony got his first 900° at 11368 days of age:

Hawk’s first Nine hundred was a span of 1 month, 16 days after his birthday and 10 months, 16 days before his next:

"Nine hundred" = 116 (Ordinal)

"Ema" = 46 (Standard)

Tony’s 900° was 46 days after his birthday, and was 46 years, 119 days old when Kawakami was born:

Skateboarder and Nine hundred degree spin both = 119

“900° Spin”

The two skateboarding prodigies were born a span of 16,920 days apart:

"Nine hundred degree spin" = 920 (Standard)

The Skatepark Project was founded in the year 2002, the first day of which was a span of 920 days after Hawk’s first Nine hundred degree spin:

In 2016, Hawk proved he still had it at the age of 48 when he completed another 900° spin on the anniversary of his first.

That date was a span of 1 year, 9 months, 20 days after Kawakami was born:

Kawakami’s record was 9120 days after Hawk’s 1999 trick and 2910 days after his 2016 trick:
