Major "Eclipse" Coding in Deaths of Scott Weiland & Chester Bennington

In 2015, the rock and roll world lost one of its most iconic vocalists when Scott Weiland passed away at the age of 48.

For a couple of decades, Weiland was the frontman and lead singer for the rock group Stone Temple Pilots. Two years before his death, however, STP and Weiland parted ways, which led to band to adopt Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, who recorded new music and briefly toured with them.

After Scott’s death, another one of grunge’s best vocalists, Chris Cornell, dedicated a song to his contemporary. Cornell would become further tied in when he died a year and a half later, as Chester Bennington sang at his funeral. Chester would also die later that year – on Chris Cornell’s birthday, nonetheless.

Another connection to Stone Temple Pilots is that Cornell, who was born in 1964, had a side project called Temple of the Dog.
