In June of 2017, an employee of Weis Markets allegedly barricaded himself and four other employees in the store. He would proceed to gun down three of them down, plus himself, leaving one survivor.
The gunman was on the tail end of a long descent into madness, evident by the content on his YouTube channel. He had begun to identify with the characters of his animated series called Ember’s Ghost Squad, and believed death would allow him to carry on as one of them.
According to this documentary, he had actually used gematria in his original plan for the attack, wishing to carry it out on 5/7/19, as those are the numbers associated with his cartoon – E.G.S.:
However, he couldn’t wait that long. The gematria of his show still turned out to be relevant, but not in the way he originally intended.
