Conn Smythe Winner and Four-Time Champion Claude Lemieux Dies @ 60

Yesterday, May 29th, news broke that former NHL star Claude Lemieux was found dead after an apparent suicide that occurred the day before, May 28th.

Though I don’t talk about it often, hockey was actually my favorite sport throughout the mid-90’s, as I spent a couple of years playing roller hockey. If Wisconsin had an NHL team, I would doutblessly be just as big of a hockey fan as I am of any other sport.

During that era, I clearly remember watching Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals in 1996, which is the game that defined Claude’s legacy. It even has its own section on his Wikipedia page.

In that game, Lemieux cemented his reputation as a bit of a dirty player when he checked Red Wings center Kris Draper into the boards from behind, causing many injures that left him eating out of a straw for several weeks.

Lemieux’s violent hit on Kris Draper happened on May 29th – the same date we learned of Claude’s passing. Additionally, Lemieux was from Quebec, Canada, which is home to the Montreal Canadiens, the same team that drafted him.

On May 29th, the Montreal Canadiens were eliminated from the Eastern Conference Finals by the Carolina Hurricanes. Claude had appeared on Montreal’s home ice to an ovation from the crowd before Game 3 of the same series.

In 2023, Yale University, home to the Skull and Crossbones = 223 (or Order 322) turned 322 years old, and we saw the second Skull and Bones Eclipse = 322 shortly after the end of 2023. Per usual, this is what these posts will focus on:

A Total Eclipse allows you to look directly at the corona of the Sun, the big fire in the sky. Claude Lemieux was carrying the torch at Game 3 of the recent Canadiens series. Does this seriously look like a man who would take his own life just three days later?

When he took Kris Draper out, Claude Percy Lemieux was waring number 22, like he did for most of his career. It’s easy to see why.

These digits are very important to The Brotherhood of Death (the nickname for Skull and Bones) and a Total solar eclipse.

Claude also had a brother who played in the NHL – Jocelyn Lemieux, who played for seven different teams over his long career.

However, Claude nor Jocelyn is the most famous Lemieux to ever suit up in the NHL. That honor goes to Pittsburgh Penguins legend Mario Lemieux, who was my favorite player. I even used the jersey number 33 because I always thought if I could be half as good as Mario, who wears #66, I’d be alright.

Mario’s numerology is every bit as significant to yesterday’s news as Claude’s.
