(2024) Akebono Tarō, First Foreign-Born Yokozuna, Dies @ 54

The first foreign-born grand champion of sumo, Akebono Taro, dies at age 54

My last post dove into the world of Sumo wrestling, a sport with more history than any other, as the modern format has been in place since the 17th century.

Standing over 500 pounds, Akebono Tarō, born as Chadwick Rowan, was one of the largest rikishi to ever compete in Makuuchi. Unfortunately, humans that size typically do not live to be very old, for obvious reasons. After several years of battling health issues, he died in April 2024 on a date with Primary numerology of Fifty-four (54):(4) + (6) + (20) + (24) = 54

"Fifty four" = 54 (Reduction)

Akebono Tarō passed away at 54 years of age:

The 54th Prime number is 251

Akebono received his promotion on the 25th of January, written as 25/1 in Japan:

"Akebono" = 251 (Reverse Caps Mixed)

Fifty four and Fifty four years old both = 251 Caps

Yokozuna = 1251 and 2510

The American Yokozuna was 12051 days old when WWF became WWE:

These numbers are commonly-associated with death.

Ritual sacrifice = 154 and 251

Does this mean Akebono was somehow murdered? It’s certainly not an easy sell. One would reasonably assume that someone his size would die of natural causes before the age of 54. Regardless of what you believe, the synchronicity is undeniable.

American Yokozuna

For the sport’s first three centuries, its top rank of yokozuna was exclusively occupied by Japanese-born wrestlers. However, as the 21st century approached, an influx of foreign talent began to compete, with some of them showing more prowess than the natives.
