Last Look as Las Vegas GP
Earlier this week, I made this post about Trump’s new Transportation Secretary, which appears to be synced to this weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix.
That post focuses on a number of alignments with driver Charles Leclerc. However, I’m not completely sold on him winning the race. I put up a smaller wager on him than normal this weekend, but also put a smaller bet on George Russell, but with much better odds.
After taking Russell at 25-to-1 yesterday, he had two excellent Practice sessions, finishing near the top of both. This changed his odds to 8-to-1 to win the Grand Prix. George was on my radar because Mercedes typically excels on tracks with high top speeds, and they were the first two cars to finish across the line in similarly low temperatures at Spa. However, it wasn’t until after his early success before I really took him seriously.
Recall how the major riddle with George William Russell is that a man named William Huntington Russell was one of two founders of the Skull and Bones society.

More Notes
If George gets on the podium, it will be Mercedes’ 297th podium finish in their history. That stood out because this weekend is 297 weeks after Russell’s first Grand Prix.
