Justin Tucker Kicks NFL Record 66-Yard Field Goal
Yesterday, Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker made the Longest field goal in NFL history on September 26th, or 26/9, which is the date leaving 269 days in the year:
There was immense synchronicity surrounding this kick. It happened in Detroit, a city the Ravens only visit once every eight years. Last time they were in Detroit, Tucker kicked a game-winning 61-yard field goal in the final minute.
The placekicker for the Lions up until this year was Matt Prater, who had originally signed with the team all the way back in 2006. Matt was born on World Lion Day. Prior to Tucker’s kick, Prater was the record-holder for longest field goal in NFL history.
Less than two hours before his record was broken, Prater, who now plays for Arizona, tried to extend his record with a 68-yard attempt just before halftime. That kick fell short and was returned for a touchdown.
Prior to Prater’s record-breaking kick in 2013, the longest made field goal was 63 yards, first achieved by Tom Dempsey way back in 1970. Dempsey’s kick occurred as time expired to give his Saints a 19-17 win over the…you guessed it – Detroit Lions. Justin Tucker’s 66-yarder yesterday also gave his Ravens a win over the Detroit Lions with a final score of 19-17. Disappointingly, “Longest field goal in NFL history” = 1916 in English gematria.
Prater, who was 47 days after his birthday yesterday, had his record broken 407 weeks after it was established:
Tom Dempsey was born in ’47
Tucker won Super Bowl 47
The 47th Prime number is 211
Tucker’s birthday is 21/11
Prater’s birthday falls 211 days after Dempsey’s
The name Matt Prater sums to 66. His 64-yard field goal was made in Denver, Colorado. This week’s record attempt came against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Tucker’s new record of 66 yards, which occurred as time expired, led the Baltimore Ravens to a win over the Lions.
Ravens-Lions has matching gematria with Sixty-six.
The 66th Prime number is 317. Tucker made his kick 3 months, 17 days before Tom Dempsey’s birthday. Jamal Agnew, who returned Prater’s attempt for a touchdown, was 317 months old. Intriguingly, Agnew played for the Lions last year and was Matt Prater’s teammate.
Tom Dempsey
Last April, I made this post about the death of Tom Dempsey, whose longtime record happened during his time with New Orleans. His death from COVID-19 made the news on April 5th, the date written 4/5 or 5/4.
The numbers 45 and 135 received a major tribute by the kickers in the first Super Bowl since Dempsey’s death. See the last section of this post.
Tom Dempsey died 135 days after the Baltimore Ravens’ kicker‘s birthday, and 231 days before his next:
231 is the 21st Triangular number
This is of course the year ’21, or 2021, syncing up with Tucker’s Ordinal gematria.
In 2020, April 5th was the 96th day of a leap year:
The Baltimore Ravens were founded in the year ’96. Tucker broke the record on the date leaving 96 days in the year:
Both Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Ravens kicker have gematria of 96.
The word Kickers sums to 76.
The longest made field goal in American football history was kicked by Abilene Christian’s Ove Johansson, all the way back in the year ’76.
The longest field goal attempt in NFL history was a 76-yard attempt by Sebastian Janikowski that fell woefully short.
Yesterday, Tucker broke the NFL record for longest made field goal on a date with 76 numerology:
